Seol In-ah Reveals Heartbreaking Breakup: “He Couldn’t Handle My Free-Spirited Nature”

On May 12, the YouTube channel Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup featured actors Jung Kyung-ho, Seol In-ah, and Cha Hak-yeon, stars of the drama Oh My Ghost Clients, as guests.
During the episode, Seol In-ah spoke candidly about Jung Kyung-ho, “Can I be honest? When I heard I’d be filming with Jung Kyung-ho, people warned me, ‘He’s kind of intimidating, super serious.’ I usually treat filming like a trip to an amusement park, but this time I thought I’d better be more reserved.”
However, when they first met, Jung Kyung-ho warmly told her, “I’m so happy it’s you.” He added, “We have a group chat, and when I saw the hidden camera footage these two filmed of me, my face looked awful. I kept looking soulless, so I reflected on it. I’m used to working with guys like Jo Jung-suk, Kim Dae-myung, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Park Hae-soo, but these two brought such energy and vibe.” Jung Kyung-ho also teased, “Cha Hak-yeon and Seol In-ah’s dating stories are fun.” When Shin Dong-yup asked, “Are Cha Hak-yeon and Seol In-ah dating?” Jung Kyung-ho playfully retorted, “Are you two dating?” sparking laughter.

Seol In-ah shared, “Jung Kyung-ho and Cha Hak-yeon told me, ‘You’re not cut out for dating.'” When Jung Kyung-ho quipped, “You’re approachable, but no guy could handle you,” Seol In-ah protested, “Guys think I can’t date, and it’s unfair.”
She then revealed, “I got dumped once before. My boyfriend at the time said, ‘I can’t handle you. You’re too free-spirited,’ and broke up with me.” She elaborated, “One reason was that I really wanted to read a book by the sea. So, I spontaneously took the KTX to Busan, read a book, and called him. When he asked where I was and I said Busan, he was shocked.”
Shin Dong-yup comforted her, saying, “If a boyfriend can’t handle that, you’re the blessing. It’s good you filtered out a guy like that quickly.”
Seol In-ah also recounted that her then-boyfriend became unresponsive and claimed to be busy, which led her to suspect and eventually confirm his unfaithfulness. This experience deeply affected her, making her cautious about entering new relationships. Since then, Seol In-ah has chosen to focus on her acting career, finding fulfillment and happiness in her professional life. Despite her past heartbreak, she remains open to the possibility of future relationships but is currently prioritizing personal growth and self-discovery.

Meanwhile, Seol In-ah previously appeared on Iron Girls last year, where she confessed to struggling with severe insomnia. She said, “I’ve been taking sleeping pills for five years, and it made me angry. I thought, ‘Why do I need pills to sleep?’ Wondering if I wasn’t tired enough, I kept myself busier, which gave me this ‘perfect life’ image.” She continued, “Sleeping pills made it hard to focus on set. Lack of sleep weakened my immune system, and I ended up taking 24 skin medication pills a day while visiting a university hospital. Eventually, I just wanted to get healthy,” explaining her reason for joining the show.
In 2025, Seol In-ah will make her return with Iron Girls season 2 and take on the role of Na Hee-joo in the new drama Oh My Ghost Clients.
